Our Story
The vision for Soul Movement Studio was born out of a desire to combine fitness with mindfulness. To develop a safe and welcoming space for like-minded souls, to nurture minds and bodies and to invite all to see what they are truly capable of.
Co-owner Melissa Leigh-Cox had the privilege of seeing Soul develop from an initial ‘thought’ right through to it’s physical creation. She was blessed to be one of the very first instructors on the scene and it changed her life completely. Melissa has over 20 years of experience within the Fitness Industry but never throughout that time had she experienced anything like Soul Movement Studio. The community, support, encouragement and love was like nothing she had seen before… It felt like home.
For co-owner Meagan Williams, Soul Movement Studio quite literally changed her life. With a background in Sport Aerobics, fitness had always been important to her. Having previously attended a variety of gyms around the area, it wasn’t until initially becoming a member at Soul Movement Studio that her passion was ignited. What started out as simply a place to exercise instead led her on a journey of self discovery and the realisation that this is what she needed to be doing with her life. With lots of encouragement from the Soul family, she started her studies, becoming a Personal Trainer and joining the Instructor Team at the studio, quitting her day job and never looking back.
In early 2022 Melissa and Meagan joined forces and began a new era or Soul together as co-owners.

Our vision is to continue to grow and expand the incredible community that is Soul Movement Studio. To maintain a safe space for you to connect with yourself and those around you. To be fully present when you workout… in body, mind and spirit. To improve your fitness but also increase your energy, confidence and motivation in other areas of your life. To break out of comfort zones and then take the opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the wonderful gift you have just given yourself. To allow you to learn to love and appreciate your body for all that it is and all that it can do and not just for the way that it looks.
Most of us know we need to exercise more for our health but we also know that our minds need down time. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we are desperately seeking an opportunity to disconnect from technology, to step away from the hustle and bustle, to break away from the constant demands that draw our attention everywhere but the one place that will bring us true peace and fulfilment… within.
