SoulYoga

This 60 minute hatha yoga class cultivates health and wellbeing through the practice of a range of techniques, including postures (asanas) & movements, breathing exercises & breath awareness, meditation & relaxation. Each yoga teacher brings their own knowledge, skills, passion and energy, allowing you to experience a variety of yoga styles. Classes are designed to be inclusive and suitable for beginner to more intermediate levels.  Our aim is for you to finish the class feeling calm, grounded, and joyful. Please see more about the styles of yoga we offer below:

General Flow – Aimed at all levels with a focus on accessibility and inclusion to meet students where they are, allowing them to feel safe and supported in the space. Classes are led intuitively (there are generally always little surprises each session!), with a blend of Vinyasa and Prana Flow. A strong focus using movement as ‘medicine’ and mindfully connecting deeper within via breath and movement to shift energy throughout the body.

Gentle Flow – A slower paced vinyasa flow for all levels which includes Pranayama (Yogic breath practice), starting with a gentle warm up, sun salutations and a slow flow to shift energy throughout the body and finishing with grounded postures and a longer guided meditation or Yoga Nidra practice.

General Hatha – Classes are a gentle pace, allowing time to go within, be present & explore the body’s natural rhythm. Moving at your own pace is always encouraged with modifications being offered throughout the class to assist with injuries, limitations or if new to yoga. Classes are all inclusive & nurturing, designed to suit all levels of fitness with easy-to-follow instruction of asanas, mindfully connecting breathe with movement.

Gentle Hatha – Classes are a gentle style of yoga which aims to help you align and calm your body, mind, and spirit in preparation for meditation. Classes incorporate, Asana (yoga postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises), Savasana (relaxation) & Dhyana (Meditation). Classes are inclusive for all fitness levels and suitable for beginners.

Vinyasa Flow – This class is a flowing and powerful practice, connecting breath with each movement to help settle and better control the nervous systems. Classes focus on physical alignment of the body in yoga postures (asana), which often produce strong sensations, opening a window where the strength and flexibility of body and mind are free to grow. Elements of pranayama (breath work) and yogic philosophy as it applies to modern life are woven into the practice.

Vin/Yin – Unwind and prepare for a new week, as you weave your breath through a nourishing Vinyasa yoga flow and allow it to carry you into the soulful space of Yin. This practice is designed to strengthen and open the body and mind. We aim to build warmth in the muscles and joints before working with more subtle sensation in supported shapes, which are held for longer periods of time. Props and blankets available in studio to help you get cosy and bliss out!

Please bring along a yoga mat, small towel and a bottle of water. If you don’t have a yoga mat please let us know when you arrive and we will happily provide you with one. As shoes are not worn for this class, we ask that you please either leave them in the shelving inside the studio or under the benches in the waiting area as you walk in.
